KiraDock(以下「本アプリ」)は、利用者のプライバシーを尊重します。
- マニュアル・使用許諾・プライバシーポリシーを読みやすくした HTML(%TEMP%\KiraDock\KiraDock-Manual)。

English
KiraDock (“the App”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles information.
1. No personal data collected or transmitted
The App does not collect personal information, nor transmit it to the developer or any server. There is no account or sign-in. The App does not send usage data, analytics, or telemetry to anyone.
2. Data kept on your device only
The following data is stored only on your device (for example, %APPDATA%\KiraDock) and is never transmitted:
- Settings (dock items, layout, theme, etc.)
- Clipboard history (only when enabled; text/images): by default it is kept in memory only while the App is running. When “Save history to a file and keep it across restarts” is on, text is saved encrypted with Windows’ own encryption (DPAPI), so the file can only be read by the same Windows account. Images are never saved to a file.
- Snippets
- Memos, sticky notes, world clock cities, and the file shelf (only the locations of the files and folders you put there; the files themselves are not copied)
- Usage statistics (launch counts of your apps)
- Cached icons, to display faster (including favicons)
- Data of sites opened in the web panel (built-in browser) or in split-screen layouts (such as sign-in state, the things a browser normally keeps; stored in a place used only by the App)
- Diagnostic log (diag.log): errors, and the App crashing and being restarted automatically, are recorded. When “Record a diagnostic log (diag.log)” is on in Settings → About → Diagnostic log, detailed clues for troubleshooting are recorded as well (these may include names of dock items and file locations; off by default). When the log grows beyond about 1 MB, the oldest entries are removed.
The following are placed in the temporary folder (%TEMP%). They are not transmitted either.
- The readable HTML versions of the manual, the license and this privacy policy (%TEMP%\KiraDock\KiraDock-Manual). They are rewritten each time you open them. The App does not delete them (Windows’ temporary-file cleanup does).
- .rdp files for opening Remote Desktop in a smart launch (%TEMP%\KiraDock\rdp). They contain only the computer to connect to (host name) and display settings, never a password. When you use an .rdp file of your own, it is a copy of that file without the password and signature lines. Each one is deleted once the Remote Desktop window appears, and any left over are deleted, for example the next time the App starts.
- Update installers (%TEMP%\KiraDock-Update-…). They are deleted at once when an update is cancelled or fails; one that was run is deleted the next time the App starts (once it is more than an hour old).
Backups (written to a folder you choose): only when you press “Save a backup…” in Settings → General → Backup, or turn on “Export a backup to a folder every day” (off by default; once a day while it is on), the App puts your settings, dock layout, memos, sticky notes, world clocks, file shelf, snippets, added icons and background skin into one file (ZIP) and writes it to the folder you chose. If you choose a folder that is synced to the cloud, such as OneDrive, the file is also stored on that company’s servers (their privacy policy applies). The daily export never includes clipboard history (“Save a backup…” includes it only when “Include clipboard history” is on). The App itself never transmits these files anywhere.
Clipboard history can be disabled or cleared at any time. Content that an app (such as a password manager) marks as “do not keep in history” is not recorded. Either of the two flags is enough: the “exclude from clipboard monitoring” flag (ExcludeClipboardContentFromMonitorProcessing), or Windows’ “can include in clipboard history” flag (CanIncludeInClipboardHistory) set to “no” (0).
3. Information read on your device
The App reads the following on your device. All of it is used only for display, search and operation, and is never transmitted. The App does not change what it reads (Windows’ or other apps’ settings).
- System information: CPU usage, memory and network speed (to show them in the system monitor).
- Running apps and windows: the App looks at running apps and window titles for the running indicator, window previews and window arrangement.
- Start menu: the App reads Start menu shortcuts to find apps in quick search.
- File search (quick search): the App asks the Windows Search index (the same one Explorer’s search uses) for file and folder names matching the words you type. The App never builds its own index. To turn this off, clear “Also search files and folders by name” in Settings → Features → Quick search (launcher).
- Recent files (quick search): the App reads Windows’ “Recent items”. To turn this off, clear “Also show recent files” in the same place.
- Jump lists: when you right-click an app on the dock, the App reads the “Recent” items Windows keeps for that app.
- Getting started guide: to suggest your first dock, the App reads your taskbar pins, the app launch counts Windows keeps, and RocketDock settings. It reads them only while the guide is open (on first run, and when you press “Getting started guide…” in Settings → About).
- Browser profiles: so that you can choose which browser and profile opens a link in a link group, the App reads the profile names and the signed-in account names (email addresses) from Chrome’s and Edge’s settings file (Local State). Only the folder name of the profile you choose is saved.
- Double-tap of a modifier key: to show or hide the dock, the App looks at when keys are pressed and released. This is used only for that decision on the spot; what you type is never recorded. To turn this off, set “Double-tap” to “None” in Settings → Features → Show / hide the dock.
- Pasting: when pasting a snippet or similar, the App keeps the current clipboard contents in memory and puts them back after pasting. This copy is never saved to a file. If the contents cannot be set aside (what you copied is too large to copy in time, or another app keeps using the clipboard), the App does not touch the clipboard, cancels the paste and tells you. Some formats, such as an app’s own private formats, cannot be set aside and may not come back. If the contents cannot be put back, the App tells you. If something else is copied during the paste, that copy is kept and the old contents are not put back.
- Screen capture, text recognition (OCR) and color picker: only when you use them, the App takes one picture of the whole screen (in memory only) and reads the area you drag over (for the color picker, the color of the point you click). The result (image, text or color code) is put on the clipboard. Text recognition uses the recognition built into Windows and runs on this PC. The screen picture is never saved to a file or transmitted (if clipboard history is on, the result also goes into the history).
Registering with Windows (only when turned on): the App writes to Windows’ settings for the following two only when they are turned on, including when they are chosen during installation (they are selected by default). Turning them off removes them, and so does uninstalling.
- Start with Windows: “Start KiraDock when Windows starts” in Settings → General → Behavior. The GitHub-distributed version uses the registry (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run); the Microsoft Store version uses Windows’ startup task.
- Explorer’s right-click menu: “Show “Add to KiraDock” in the right-click menu” in Settings → Features → Explorer integration. It is registered in the registry (HKCU\Software\Classes) (GitHub-distributed version only).
4. Limited network use
The App contacts the internet only in these cases. As with any internet connection, the other side (GitHub, Google, or the site you open) receives your IP address and other ordinary connection information.
- Favicon retrieval: to show website icons in the Link Group feature, the App sends the domain name of a link to Google’s favicon service (google.com/s2/favicons). Retrieved icons are cached locally.
- Update check (except the Microsoft Store version): the GitHub-distributed version queries GitHub’s public API for new releases (no personal data is sent). The check on startup runs at most once a day and stops when you clear “Check for new versions on startup” in Settings → About → Updates. The Microsoft Store version is updated by the Store.
- Update download (except the Microsoft Store version): only when you agree to update, the App downloads the new installer from GitHub. It runs the installer only after confirming that its size and SHA256 (a fingerprint of the file) match the values GitHub provides; if they do not match, it does not run it.
- Opening links / web panels / web searches: at your action, the App opens websites in your default browser or the built-in browser (WebView2). Quick search’s web search and keywords, and “Search the web” in clipboard history, put the words you entered into the search site’s URL. This is normal web browsing and is subject to each site’s own privacy policy.
5. No sharing with third parties
The App does not sell or share your data with third parties.
6. Children’s privacy
The App does not collect personal information from any user.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may change without notice. Changes take effect when posted on this page.
